The highly anticipated action role-playing game Diablo IV has been creating a buzz for months. With the recently announced open beta schedule, fans of the longstanding franchise are more than ready to jump into the action. Along with the schedule, another cinematic trailer was released that excited fans to experience the new game even more.
On February 28th, there will be a broadcast to Twitch and YouTube platforms where lead world designer Art Peshkov, lead systems designer Meng Song and game director Joe Shely will discuss further details regarding Diablo IV. Later that month, those who pre-ordered the game will have access to the open beta taking place between March 17th and 19th, while others can try it out between March 24th and 26th. The beta will be available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. It will feature the prologue and Act I of the game, taking place at the Shattered Peaks, and characters will be able to level up to 25.
The cinematic trailer further builds anticipation for the game, set to be released June 6th, 2023. Game director Joe Shely commented about the trailer, “We’re thrilled to share the opening act of Diablo IV with you and invite you to explore the world and the lore of the game.” He also discussed the upcoming open beta, which will allow players to explore the game from the inside out, stressing the importance of having a Battle.net account for those who want to take part.
The trailer opens with a dark and ominous atmosphere as the main villain, Lilith, stands above a pit of flames. With her powerful voice she announces her plan to reclaim Sanctuary while she is brought back to life by a gruesome ritual. The trailer reveals many of the new characters, like The Dark Riders, and features some of the creatures players will be facing while they explore the world, like the Foul Barbect.
In conclusion, Diablo IV is, without a doubt, a highly anticipated RPG game and with the recent announcement of its open beta schedule, fans are now even more excited to join the action. With the new cinematic trailer, the game’s director Joe Shely has further invited players to explore the world and its lore as we eagerly await its official release.
