Miyazaki is untroubled by players utilizing Elden Ring's integrated cooperative modification

In Elden Ring, the standard cooperative play feature has some flaws. Not being able to smoothly traverse the game world alongside companions in the initial release can be a source of annoyance, so it's beneficial that there exists a modification to overcome this limitation.

In an interview with PC Gamer, Hidetaka Miyazaki expressed that the team at FromSoftware doesn't have a negative stance towards the mod. "It's definitely not something we are against or wish to minimize. The aspiration to navigate through the entirety of the game side by side is understandable," he shared. "With where we landed on Elden Ring, it came down to preferring a more relaxed, impromptu approach—join in, conquer a boss, then leave. It's not about imposing technical barriers on the player; it's more about providing them with this focused experience before they proceed."

However, this could hint at more integrated cooperative play in future titles. "That doesn't exclude the possibility of us exploring options for a fully cooperative experience from start to finish in our subsequent projects," Miyazaki mentioned. "We're open to considering concepts that facilitate such a gameplay dynamic in our upcoming releases."
