Fantastic Four Set to Make Waves in the MCU with Upcoming Films and Avengers Crossovers

Excitement is building around the future of the Fantastic Four within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Recent updates have shed light on the anticipated project directed by Matt Shakman, titled Fantastic Four: The First Steps. Marvel Studios President has reiterated that these iconic characters will soon be woven into the narratives of the upcoming Avengers films.

At the Disney APAC Content Showcase, it was revealed that the inclusion of Marvel’s First Family in the MCU is finally coming to fruition. The film is set to conclude production shortly, with a release date slated for the summer of next year. Following this debut, all the characters will seamlessly transition into the next Avengers films, sparking great enthusiasm for the Fantastic Four's future.

Earlier announcements from SDCC 2024 highlighted that both the Fantastic Four alongside the Thunderbolts will make an appearance in the cast for Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars. Notably, Robert Downey Jr. will reprise his role as a significant adversary, Doctor Doom, who presents a challenge to Reed Richards.

Fantastic Four, set to debut on July 25, 2025, features an impressive cast: Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, famously referred to as Mister Fantastic, portrayed by Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach taking on the role of Ben Grimm/The Thing. Ralph Ineson will lend his voice to the formidable Galactus, while Julia Garner takes on the role of the Silver Surfer.

<p>Looking ahead, Avengers: Doomsday is set to launch set to debut in cinemas on May 1, 2026, will be succeeded by Avengers: Secret Wars, hitting screens on May 7, 2027. The celebrated directors Joe and Anthony Russo will return to helm both movies, with Joe commenting on their motivation for returning during an interview at a recent comic convention. He expressed that they would not come back unless they felt the story had the potential to rival the impact of Infinity War and Endgame, hinting at some exciting developments on the horizon.
