Recently, changes implemented on game trailers designed for younger audiences have sparked significant controversy. The debate intensified when users took to social media expressing their displeasure over a recent policy related to the removal of physical game editions.
Indie developer EatPantGames shared that these new measures affect many developers, including themselves. Their new game, available on PC, PlayStation, and Switch, attracted attention when a promotional trailer was posted on an official channel. Shortly after, the studio noted that more than 400 comments appeared rapidly, with most remarks focusing on their concerns about the decision.
A review of the posted video revealed that the feedback largely comprised harsh observations directed at the company instead of insightful opinions on the gameplay. Another title released this week experienced a similar barrage of critical responses online.
In light of this ongoing debate and to prevent younger audiences from encountering the harsh language, the comment sections for trailers of games aimed at families have now been disabled.
